Valentine’s Postcards

I wanted to send a few Valentine’s cards this year so instead of buying some, I decided to make my own. And I found the perfect printable! These hand drawn postcards are so adorable; click here. This was the perfect rainy day, lounging in bed craft.

I decided to print out four of the white cards and then add a little color to them with my prismacolor pencils. And here’s how they turned out…

Since I didn’t have any envelopes, I decided to actually send them as postcards. So I got out my ruler and drew on the back of the cards (I had to get out of bed and move to my desk for this step haha).

Voila!! The perfect Valentine ♥

DIY Ornaments: Winter Wonderland

I found the inspiration for this ornament on Pinterest….of course! I made a dozen of these adorable ornaments to give out as christmas gifts. I tied a white ribbon in the loop for  hanging the ornament and bought little Chinese take-out boxes to wrap them up in.

  • mini christmas trees (Michael’s sells these in packs of 12 for around $3)
  • “make your own” glass ornaments (make sure the opening is large enough for the base of the tree)
  • hot glue
  • tweezers
  • salt
  • glitter (I used Martha Stewart glitter in Snow)

Step one:

  • add glue to the base of the tree
  • use your fingers and the tweezers to place the tree inside the ornament
  • hold the tree in place with the tweezers to let the glue set

step 1

Step two:

  • using a funnel pour in the salt and glitter
  • put the ornament top back on

And you’re done!

Waterless Snow Globe

This craft is inspired by Anthropologie and many other versions can be found on Pinterest and the blog-sphere.

globe materials

Materials needed:

  • mason jars or cleaned up food jars
  • hot glue (E-6000 or any other permanent glue works well too)
  • fake snow (I bought a bag from Michael’s)
  • mini christmas trees (I bought mine from the dollar store)
  • ribbon

  • glue the tree to the inside of the jar lid (if the tree is too tall for the jar, you need to do a little tree trimming)
  • put a small amount of fake snow in the jar (you will be tempted to put a lot in, but you don’t want to burry the tree in snow)
  • screw the lid onto the jar
  • tie a bow around the base of the jar

And you’re done!

finished globes

These are a few of my finished snow globes. I like the mismatched jars! I used both white satin ribbon and white eyelet ribbon.

Some different ideas:

  • using the glittered snow from Michaels
  • adding glitter to the tree
  • adding mini lights or ornaments to the tree

Dollar Store Christmas Craft

  • 5X7 frame from the dollar tree (any size would work, just resize the pdf)
  • white card stock
  • download the PDF file: text santa

I saw something similar to this on online, but decided to make it myself. I found this font on dafont.com, and many, many others! This particular font is called Misunderstood.

Print out the PDF file and cut out the image to fit your frame. For my 5×7 frame I kept one inch one the top, one inch on the bottom, and 7/16th on each side of white card stock. like this:
